Dream (3)

Essimmia   felt   not   right   since   she   dreamt   that   forgotten   nightmare.

Sometimes   she   woke   up   at   nights   sweating   suddenly;   sometimes   she   could   not   control   herself   from   trembling   while   she   looked   at   the   silver   world   outside.

But   the   most   important,   the   most   serious   problem   was   that   one   day   when   she   saw   her   father   fed   her   pets   for   her,   she   cried.

She   cried   from   the   depth   of   her   heart;   cried   it   as   hard   as   she   could,   and   almost   ran   out   of   breath.

It   was   all   in   a   sudden,   when   Essimmia   calmed   down   again,   she   was   already   in   the   embrace   of   Worrllern.

“What   are   you   crying   for?”   asked   Worrllern.

“Daddy,   would   you   leave   me?”   asked   Essimmia.

“Why?”   Worrllern   did   not   get   the   reason   for   her   to   ask   such   an   abrupt   question.

“Would   you   leave   me?”   Essimmia   did   not   answer   him   but   repeated   her   question   again.

“Absolutely   not.”   Said   Worrllern.   He   gave   his   little   princess   the   answer   she   wanted.   “I   won’t   leave   you,   but   you   decide   to   leave   me   or   not.”

      “Really?”

      “Really.”

      “You   promise?”

      “Yes…I   promise.”

Essimmia   was   relieved.   She   believed   everything   her   father   said.

Notwithstanding   Worrllern   said   so,   he   broke   his   promise   at   the   end.

On   that   day,   he   kissed   her   on   her   forehead   gently   and   said,   “Emia,   I   will   be   out   with   your   mother   for   a   while.”

She   nodded   and   watched   them   leaving,   then   closed   the   door.

As   their   figures   disappeared   from   Essimmia’s   eyes,   she   trembled   and   started   sweating   instantly.

What’s   wrong?   She   asked   herself   but   did   not   have   an   answer.

She   walked   back   to   the   living   room   and   sat   on   the   sofa,   at   the   same   time   she   heard   very   sharp   screams   from   her   pets.

      It’s   Lilia,   Phablis,   and   Sarcrown!

She   ran   to   the   window   and   saw   her   father   was   holding   a   luminous-energy   gun,   shooting   at   the   three   little   pigs.   Lilia,   the   sow,   tried   to   protect   her   two   children;   she   stood   at   the   very   front   and   used   her   body   to   cover   two   piggies.

      “Daddy!”   Essimmia   screamed.

She   ran   out   of   the   house   into   a   silver   world.   The   accumulation   of   snow   had   already   been   one   foot   high.

Her   father   turned   his   head   at   her,   his   gaze   was   as   cold   as   ice;   it   was   the   first   time   he   did   not   smile   while   he   was   looking   at   her.

He   raised   up   his   arm   straightly   and   pointed   at   her   with   the   muzzle   of   the   gun.

As   if   she   saw   a   picture   of   herself,   lying   on   the   snow,   both   her   left   arm   and   right   leg   were   shot.   Snow   kept   falling   and   falling.

Essimmia   screamed   again.   She   ran   to   Lilia   and   hugged   her   in   two   arms   tightly,   then   carried   the   sow   running   back   to   the   house.   Phablis   and   Sarcrown   followed   her.

She   locked   the   door   as   soon   as   two   piggies   getting   in.

“Daddy…”   said   Essimmia   full   of   disbelieve.

“Essimmia…”   a   very   feeble   voice   called   her   consciousness   back   from   her   arms.

      “Lilia!”   Essimmia   screeched.

“Just   put   me   on   the   table…”   said   the   sow.

Essimmia   listened   to   her.   She   put   the   sow   on   the   dining   table;   her   white   dress   was   all   wet   because   of   the   melting   snow.

Lilia   struggled   to   stand   up,   but   she   could   not.   She   lost   three   of   her   legs   in   the   shooting   before.   She   was   not   bleeding   because   of   the   extreme   high   temperature   of   the   luminous-energy;   in   that   case   the   temperature   could   even   evaporate   the   blood   and   burned   the   gunshot   wounds   scorched.

Her   legs   were   totally   snapped;   now   she   only   had   her   back   right   leg   left.

Phablis’   front   left   leg   was   also   snapped   totally;   when   Essimmia   put   him   on   the   table   he   could   not   stop   squealing.

“Oh,   no…Lilia,   would   you   be   alright?”   Essimmia   could   not   hold   her   tears.

“Don’t   worry…Essimmia,   we   are   monsters,   you   remember?”   said   the   sow.         She   tried   to   comfort   the   little   girl   although   her   voice   was   that   quite   and   weak.

“Why   would   this   happen?”   asked   Essimmia.   She   wanted   to   shriek   but   her   throat   was   so   dry   and   so   hurtful;   her   voice   turned   so   husky.

“Daddy…you   lied   to   me!”   she   cried   from   deep   within,   with   that   much   of   pain   and   sorrow.

Why   would   this   happen?   Just   as   her   dream   had   foreshadowed.

Essimmia   remembered   what   her   nightmare   was   now   –   her   father   killed   her.

Why?   Why   did   her   father   want   to   kill   her?   Although   things   did   not   go   as   her   dream   went,   but   why   did   her   father   still   aim   the   gun   at   her?

Daddy,   is   this   what   the   adults   always   called   -   betrayal?
